Venus Transit 2004 was conducted by the Society in furtherance to its aims and objectives, considering the fact that this
celestial event was to repeat after 122 years on June 8, 2004.
The Planetary society for the purpose of creating awareness regarding Venus Transit was honored to be recognized as
official Associate of Venus Transit Network of European Southern Observatory (an organization which is result of 10 European
Countries intergovernmental cooperation ), with its head office at
The Society followed the foot steps of Vigyan Prasar (an Autonomous body under Department of Science & Technology).
On June 8th 2004 Society organized Venus Transit 2004 programme in association with K.V.Uppal No.1 and State Jawahar Bal
Bhavan.
Under this Observation of Venus Transit through Astronomical Telescopes fitted with Solar Filters was organized by the
society.
Considering the overcast weather conditions and to avoid missing such a rare Celestial Event the society planned for Screening
of Live Webcast of Venus Transit courtesy 15 Observatories all over the world.
